One thing about life: every few years we gain wisdom, understanding, and—if we are lucky—the lens we use to view it becomes just a little clearer. Even if our actual eyesight is dimmer, our vision becomes sharper. The problem is, sometimes we do not open our eyes. We do not allow ourselves to see.
Another problem is the state of the world—it is a mess—so parts of us do not want to look. We do not want to see.
Well, I invite you to dream. Think about the things you have always wanted to do—the thing that feels too big or too expensive for you to manage alone. Dream about it and know that it will happen. Let that dream change the energy of each day. It will. I promise.
Today, I am dreaming of fishing. Why fishing? I’m glad you asked. Although I do not in any way consider myself an avid fisherperson—I know nothing beyond the basics, and I am not completely sure about those—what I do know is that the act of fishing requires a quiet spirit. It requires relaxation and peace. It requires me to go to a place that is peaceful. A place that lets the sound of the water provide calm, serenity, and rest—all of the things we need to make it through each day.
Now, your idea of fishing may not involve water, bait, poles, and fish. But whatever “fishing” means to you, dream about it and bring it to fruition. Step away from daily life every once in a while—go fishing.
